The Joint Personal Effects Depot (JPED) was constructed in three phases at Dover Air Force Base. Phase 1 was the site development and construction of a new parking lot for the existing Port Mortuary Building. Phase 2 included the construction of the new 62,000 square foot JPED Building. The building includes extensive administrative office space with restroom/locker rooms, a conference room, training room, multi-purpose room, kitchen, and an entry/lobby area with a memorial dedicated to all branches of the military’s fallen soldiers. In addition, there are eighteen separate gated processing areas each with three clothes washers and dryers and a sink. Phase 3 included the demolition of the existing Outdoor Recreation Center and a 15,000 SF building, which made way for the construction of new parking lots for the JPED facility.
