Being one of the first middle schools in the state of Pennsylvania, CF Patton was ahead of its time. Not much has changed in its 48 years; some extensions were added in later years due to the growing population. Their philosophy of “kids first” has not changed either, which supports the renovation of the school’s cafeteria in order to provide a more efficient workplace for the staff and a welcoming dining area for the students.
This project involved a complete overhaul of the cafeteria eating area, servery and kitchen. The goal for these areas is to demolish the old walls and create new ones for a more efficient, new design. The new kitchen will be 2,016-SF, the new servery will be 1,446-SF and the new cafeteria will be 5,813-SF. There was also new plumbing installed, new ADA bathrooms and a new ADA ramp outside of the kitchen. New doorways and entrances were built on each side of the cafeteria and skylights were installed in the new roof to provide natural lighting.
