Groundbreaking Held for Mace’s Lane Community Center

On Friday, June 10^th Bancroft Construction was in attendance as government officials and community members celebrated the groundbreaking of the new Mace’s Lane Community Center in Cambridge, Maryland.

Bancroft is proud to serve as the Construction Manager for the project, which will consist of renovating the former Mace’s Lane High School and transforming the building into a community center that will house the Edythe M. Jolley Museum and Cultural Center, Boys & Girls Club, and a gymnasium. The project involves demolishing a 10,000-square-foot section of the building and a complete renovation of the remaining 16,700-square-foot building. The project will be completed in two phases.

The new Mace’s Lane Community Center and state-of-the-art Boys & Girls Club were designed to honor the history of Cambridge’s African American educational experience and built to inspire the next generation.
